Helen Marie Howell Felder graduated from Dunbar High School in 1937 and from St. Philip School of Nursing, Medical College of Virginia, in 1944. She spent her nursing career in Houston, Texas, working at St. Elizabeth’s hospital as an advanced charge nurse for twenty years.
In 1981 the Houston Community College recognized the service of Helen Howell Felder as a teacher in the Clinical Department of the college’s Nurses Vocational Program. She retired in 1984 after thirty-seven years in nursing.
