Traveling Baskets Ready for Churches, Clubs, Schools

Traveling baskets featuring from Legacy’s current exhibit on the Black Church will go on the road beginning November 1.

Artifacts and photographs from “By God’s Grace: The African American Worship Experience in Central Virginia, 1820-1950” will be available to church and school groups, clubs, and nursing homes. The four baskets have been designed for different age groups: seniors, teenagers and adults, elementary-age children, and pre-school children. A docent will use the basket to share some of the types of objects on display in the exhibit.

Those wishing to schedule programs using the traveling baskets should telephone the Museum at 845-3455 during regular hours (Thursday – Saturday, 12-4 p.m., and Sunday 2-4 p.m.) to make arrangements.
